ph646The Los Angeles Dodgers are getting reliever Brock Stewart back into the organization. They struck a deal with the Minnesota Twins on Thursday, a few hours before the MLB trade deadline.

phpvipThe former Normal West High School product was drafted by the Mets in the 40th round of the 2010 MLB draft. He did not sign and went on to play at Illinois State University.

bingo plusStewart was then drafted by the Dodgers in the sixth round of the 2014 draft. He was with the team from 2016 through some of the 2019 season. He then pitched in ten games with Toronto in 2019. After being out of the league, he returned to the Twins in 2023 and pitched in 83 games with them.

He heads back to the Dodgers with a 10-4 record in his career and a 4.48 earned run average. 2025 has been one of the best seasons of the 33-year-old's career.  He is 2-1, with a 2.38 earned run average. Stewart has thrown 34 innings and struck out 41 batters on the season.

Los Angeles has been marred by injuries all season. Their lead in the National League West is down to three games over the San Diego Padres. The Dodgers are 63-46 while the Padres are 60-49.

The Dodgers will host the St. Louis Cardinals for a three game series over the weekend.

As of now, there is no indication what the return to Minnesota will be in this trade.
